Accessorial Charges: What to Ask Before You Book
Liftgate, inside delivery, appointments, and detention. Know what applies before the invoice arrives.
Accessorials are services beyond standard dock-to-dock transport. They are a common source of invoice surprises, and most can be identified before booking.
Common accessorials
- Liftgate at pickup or delivery when there is no dock
- Inside delivery past the threshold
- Residential or limited-access locations
- Delivery appointments
- Detention when loading or unloading runs long
The simplest fix
